Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Kitchen Timer Android app (com.nvspro.kitchentimer) handles, and why. We keep it short and plain, because there is not much to explain: Kitchen Timer is a cooking timer, and we do not want your personal information.

1. Information we collect ourselves

None that identifies you. Kitchen Timer has no sign-up, no login and no user accounts. Your timers, presets and app settings are stored only in your device's own storage. If you uninstall the app, they are gone.

2. Information collected by advertising partners

Kitchen Timer is free and is paid for by advertising. We use Google AdMob, and we may also use Meta Audience Network. To show ads, these services may collect and process:

• Your device's advertising identifier (a resettable ID, not your name)
• General device information, such as model, operating system version and language
• Approximate location derived from your IP address (country/region level)
• Information about ads shown, such as whether an ad was viewed or tapped

This information is handled under those companies' own privacy policies:

3. Your choices about ads

You are in control:

• In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app shows a consent screen the first time you open it. You choose whether ads may use your data, and you can change your mind later from the app's settings.
• On any device, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. This limits ad personalisation.

We request only ads rated suitable for a general audience (Google's "G" rating).

4. App configuration

Kitchen Timer downloads its own settings — for example whether ads are enabled — from Google Firebase, so we can fix problems without releasing an update. This is a one-way download of settings to your device. It does not send us your personal information.

5. Permissions the app requests, and why

• Notifications — to show the countdown and alert you when time is up
• Vibration — to vibrate when the timer finishes
• Alarms & reminders — so the alarm rings at the exact second, even if the phone is asleep
• Run in background — so the timer keeps counting when the app is closed
• Internet — to load ads and app settings

Kitchen Timer does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, files or precise location.

6. Children

Kitchen Timer is a general-audience cooking tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data retention and security

Because we do not collect personal information, we have nothing about you to store or delete. Data held by our advertising partners is retained according to their own policies, linked above.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its processing. As we hold no personal data ourselves, such requests are best directed to the advertising partners listed above. You may also contact us and we will help where we can.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing.
